Aldi Food Review - Mamia Baby Formula

My babies would never drink formula they went straight to milk after breastfeeding so I haven't ever tried this but because so many mums out there have asked for reviews I popped the photo up but I don't personally have a review .... it costs $14.99.

  1. I haven't tried it yet, but will be moving on from BF to formula in the next 2 months and so have done a comparison of aldi formula to the other mainstream formulas (eg: Nan, S26, Aptamil etc) and it has pretty much the same ingrediants as all other formulas. The only thing that varies is the amount of the ingrediant ie: Aptamil Gold + has 2.8g protein, S26 = 2.0g, Mamia = 2.5g. And. wth something like calcium which is essential in bub's diet, Aptamil = 80mg, S26 = 90mg, Mamia = 100mg.

Mamia does have alot more vitamin quantity than others, but I am assuming that what bub's body does not use it will turn to waste, much like our bodies.

Plus, there is the added bonus of Mamia being made in Australia (something that is important to me) where most other brands are made overseas. The only other brand that I have found to be made in Aus is 'Nurture Gold' by Heinz. Perhaps they are made in the same place? Aldi baby food is packaged by Heinz, it says so on the packaging.

If anyone has tried it I would love to see a post with your review.

  2. My son has been on this since he came home. I found out that it's not repackaged Heinz but actually made by Tatura milk in Tatura in Victoria. Which is great as we are dairy farmers who up ply tatura milk

  3. I mostly breastfeed, but I give my 9 months old a bottle before bed and keep a tin around for the babysitter to use. I've not had any issues with this formula at all. My son took straight to it and gobbles it up every night.

  4. I'd been using s26 on my 12wk old and found she didn't feed much shed drink only 50-60ml at a time which is only half of what she should be feeding. It really stank as well and made her poo a dark brown almost grayish colour which stank like the formula. So I tried aldi formula and last night she drank 120ml in one go. She's never done that before!

  5. I stopped breastfeeding my daughter at 6 months and tried 4 different brands of formula which she rejected after many attempts. This aldi one is the only one she will take. I was worried and left it till last as I wasn't sure who made it and what was in it. I did the comparison and was pleased it stood up next to the more expensive brands.
